Aboriginal Business Financing Program – NADF
The Aboriginal Business Financing Program (ABFP) promotes the growth of a prosperous and vibrant Aboriginal business community in Northern Ontario by offering Aboriginal entrepreneurs a range of services and supports. These contributions are generally non-repayable.

Funding Amount
$249,999 Individual Aboriginal entrepreneurs may receive up to $99,999 in funding assistance +Community-owned businesses may receive up to $249,999 in funding assistance Although actual ABFP contributions may vary based on the factors noted above, in general ABFP may contribute up to: +Business Support: up to 75% of eligible costs +Capital and Operating: Youth Applicants: up to 40% of eligible costs +Non-Youth Applicants: up to 35% of eligible costs +Marketing: up to 60% of eligible costs Minimum equity requirements: +Applicants 18-35 years: 10% of total project costs +Applicants over 35 years: 15% of total project costs

Eligibility and Requirements
Company Requirements
- You are over the age of 18 and are of Aboriginal heritage (Status or Non-Status Indian (on or off-reserve), Metis or Inuit)
- Your business is a wholly-owned or majority-owned (minimum 51%) Aboriginal business
- Aboriginal community and/or Development Corporation operating in Northern Ontario
- You are involved full-time with the proposed business in a management capacity and can provide some level of cash equity to support the project
