Assurance System Producer Program - Crown Land Pasture Grazing Associations
The Crown land pasture grazing association stream of the Assurance System Producer Program provides beef cattle grazing associations that operate on Saskatchewan Crown land pastures a rebate for veterinarian assessments, Verified Beef Production Plus (VBP+) Audits and approved eligible equipment expenses that improve biosecurity and animal welfare practices. Value Approved eligible costs are funded at 50 per cent to a maximum program rebate as follows: +Training Stream $2,500 +Certification Stream - $15,000

Eligibility and Requirements
You are eligible to apply for a rebate if you are a:
- Beef cattle grazing association operating on Saskatchewan Crown land. This includes:
- Former Prairie Farm Rehabilitation (PFRA) community pastures;
- Former Saskatchewan Pastures Program (SPP) pastures; or
- Grazing co-ops.
- Beef cattle grazing association who has completed the required training and/or certification:
- For the Training Stream, the pasture manager, or person in an equivalent role who is in charge of the day-to-day operations and care of the animals in the pasture, has completed the required VBP+ training.
- Beef cattle grazing association who has a Saskatchewan Premises Identification (PID) number.
Eligible Expenses
Equipment items below are rebated at 50 per cent of eligible costs. There is no limit to the number of equipment items a Crown land pasture grazing association may purchase within the program maximums. Items must be identified on the Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Equipment Recommendation Report, completed by the veterinarian, to be considered for funding. Items as identified on the Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Equipment Recommendation Report, regardless of risk level, will be considered for funding.
Eligible items include:
Biosecurity
- Segregation pen:
- Metal panels, metal gate(s) and metal feed bunk(s);
- Gates(s) and metal bunk(s) must be claimed in conjunction with the metal panels.
- Deadstock site (fencing):
- Posts (metal or wood), wire, fasteners (staples); and
- Fencing to prevent access to standing water:
- Posts (metal or wood), wire, fasteners (staples).
Animal Welfare Improvements
- Tilt table:
- Stationary or portable, hydraulic or manual;
- Bud box:
- Metal;
- Cattle oiler;
- Loading chute:
- Metal, and
- Portable or stationary, adjustable;
- Squeeze chute:
- Portable or stationary, manual or hydraulic including powerpak, all types of gates, head gate, palpation cage and extra restraints, purchased as part of a package or standalone;
- Alleyway:
- Metal – all types and lengths;
- Crowding tub:
- Metal – all sizes; and
- Remote surveillance for water quality monitoring:
- Game camera connected to cell service to monitor water quality;
- Range booster.
