Fine Craft Industry Development

Program Objectives: Promote the development and growth of the New Brunswick fine craft industry through assisting professional artists and industry professionals with costs associated with professional development opportunities, attending in-person and virtual industry events, brand development and market preparedness; Ensure fine craft industry entrepreneurs have the skills, capacity and tools to succeed in a global environment; Encourage the continuous career development of both emerging and senior artisans as well as advance the sector as a whole. Increase opportunities to develop and access new domestic and international markets.

$6,000 Professional Development & Mentorship Support: +Up to 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $2,000 for an individual and $4,000 for a group for in-person or virtual events/projects Market Development: +Up to 50% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $6,000 for all markets/projects

Eligibility and Requirements

Eligibility

Fine craft industry entrepreneur and have maintained a principal residence in New Brunswick for income tax purposes for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the date of application to the Program; demonstrate that they are actively developing their career path and that their project will contribute in achieving this end; demonstrate that they have the ability to carry out the proposed activities and achieve the desired results.


Proposed projects must ensure all physical distancing, self-isolation directives and COVID- 19 regulations in place by the Province of New Brunswick are respected. Projects or initiatives not adhering to these regulations will not be considered. Clients should keep in mind that the above directives may change. The client is responsible for adapting to changes in directives as they occur. In these challenging times, we encourage clients to utilize digital resources and be ready to adapt projects as necessary. Projects should end no later than March 31 in the fiscal year in which funding was received.
