Eligibility and Requirements
For the 2022 tax year, the Manitoba Homeowner's School Tax Assistance is claimable by a taxpayer who is 55 years of age or over and is equal to the lesser of:
- $109.38 minus 1.25% of family income in excess of $15,000; and
- The Total of the following amounts:
- school taxes paid minus $160; oral's education property tax credit of the year,
- the total of all amounts each of which is the school tax reduction given in respect of the principal residence of the individual for the year or a part of the year,
- the seniors' school tax rebate, if any, claimed for that year by the individual or the individual's cohabiting spouse or common-law partner.
Only one Homeowner's School Tax Assistance may be claimed per dwelling.
